Project 2 Research

Beer

This Infographic will focus on:
  • Different types of beer (dark to light, Cheap to premium, lager and ales)
  • Global beer consumption
  • Difference in age group that consume alcohol
  • Worlds top selling beers
Links to some information to be used:

To Illustrate I am thinking of using full/half/empty/etc, glasses/mugs of beer to replace bar graphs.
Another option is to use kegs as markers with the information placed on top, the keg shall either be standing upright or from a birds eye view. The use of beer taps seems to be something I have not seen on many beer inforgraphics so that is something I would like to incorporate in my design.

Video Games

For this concept I would like to inform the audience about:
  • Demographic
  • Different platforms (hardware) / Most popular consoles
  • Different game rental service
  • Types (genres) of games
Links to some website with information to inlclude:
The information displayed will deal more in number percentages than graphs, comparing the popularity of each different factor. The use of pie charts is optional but I would like to find a more unique alternative to this. perhaps using cd's or some other graphic would be a better aesthetic.

Use controller as pie chart

Tattoo's

The information I would like to address is as follows:
  • Demographic
  • Statistics
  • Reasons
  • Placement
  • Techniques used
Here are some links to some information I found on the subject that I would like to incorporate into the design

For the Interactive part I would like to do a black and white design with the roll over applying color to the tattoo that is moused over with a pop up of the information. This might include a bar graph for some information. Ideas for the bar graph design are using ink bottles filled at different levels.
